Original Drivetrain • 20-Year Second Owner • Southern Car
A well-documented, all-original 2003 WRX Bugeye sedan with stock drivetrain and extensive history.
I'm selling my 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX sedan after 20 years of ownership. This is a rare opportunity to own a completely stock, unmodified bugeye WRX that's spent its entire life in the South and away from harsh conditions.
I purchased this WRX in 2005 with just 34,000 miles on the clock from Landers McLarty Subaru in Huntsville, AL. It's been garage-kept since 2010 both at home and work, and has never seen salt roads or northern winters. This means one critical thing that sets this WRX apart: ZERO rust anywhere - not in the quarter panels, strut towers, or undercarriage.
Since I started working from home in 2016, this car has seen very limited use - under 3,000 miles annually for the past 5 years. It's been properly maintained throughout my ownership and has never left me stranded.
Finding a stock, unmodified WRX from this era is becoming increasingly difficult, especially one with a documented history and long-term ownership. While it needs some attention due to age, it's an excellent platform for someone who appreciates these iconic vehicles.
The car isn't perfect - it burns oil like most older EJ engines (~1qt per 500 miles), the rear suspension is original and worn (will need refresh), and the wiper linkage needs repair. It also has normal wear for a 22-year-old car including some minor chips and dings, but overall it's in remarkable condition for its age, especially the clean interior.
Completely stock drivetrain - never tuned, no power mods
Clean, rust-free undercarriage - Alabama car, never seen salt
Remarkably clean interior for its age
All electrical systems functioning - cold A/C (~40°F)
Well-documented 20-year history with same owner
Burns oil like many EJ engines (~1qt per 500 miles)
Rear suspension is original and worn (needs refresh)
Wiper linkage needs repair (~$250 fix)
Tires are aged (2015) though tread is good
Minor exterior wear as expected (small chips/scratches)
A well-documented timeline of care and maintenance.
